Hey Eric,
Just an idea and a thought -- perhaps tribeTV should film some of the actual tribe events that happen within our community.
For example, I'm in "SF restaurants" and I host a lot of foodie outings to try out new restaurants or different ethnic cuisines.
Or "For the Love of Sushi" tribe I know the moderate hosts events there too to try out different sushi places and have different types of sushi if we were to gather it in a tiny group.
There are so many SF events that a tribe member utilizes tribe to get other tribers involved or to go to.
So that's my .02.
:)

Re: Ideas
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 2:57 PMSome of us in the East Bay Bands tribe have been trying to organize a show somewhere in the (duh) East Bay as a Tribe-based event. We'd love to be able to give Tribe the credit you guys are due!
BTW, my wife and I are currently moving into a new rental home in Oakland thanks to Tribe. :) Tribe rocks! -

Re: Ideas
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 4:13 PMThese are all great ideas guys. I would side with recording a meet up that isn't music oriented because our show is already so music focused.
If one of your meetups are about to happen please post them here and we'll decide on the most appropriate one for tv, in terms of being something stimulating to see.
Thanks for your input and interest guys!

Re: Ideas
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 5:13 PMI have an idea, too!
What about a segment called "Tribe Takes On..." and different moderators (or whomever) are invited to go and "investigate" things. Like, "Tribe takes on dating..." and "Tribe Takes On... Kink," or "Tribe Takes On... Children's Birthday Parties." It doesn't have to be serious! Althought, it could be. "Tribe Takes On...Running a campaign election."
The topics are only as liited as teh number of Tribesters and their interests/hobbies/vocations/avocations. -

Thu, December 9, 2004 - 5:36 PMHeck Russet, if you can send in a one minute clip (please don't make it any longer than around a minute) with one of those ideas that would be great. I love the idea!

Re: Ideas
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 5:44 PMThanks! A friend of mine calls me an "engine" of ideas. And I'm happy to help you out.
Is Tribe hiring? ha ha ha

Re: Ideas
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 7:25 PMPerhaps Russet could rustle up some of those old BayArea PSA's from when we were kids, like Snippets, or better yet create new ones? -
-
Re: Ideas
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 7:43 PMNow that is a fun idea! Fake PSA's or one with real messages?

Re: Ideas
Fri, December 10, 2004 - 12:15 PMI think Russet would be a great host, in the tradition of Bob Wilkins.

Re: Ideas
Sat, December 11, 2004 - 6:52 AMI think real PSAs just like what we grew up with.
They encapsulate an era in such a charming way, I really think we should hunt down Snippets and find out what they did. The Bay Area is such a beautiful and unrivaled place as far as how down to earth and arty everything is, with so much going on right now, we could create 15, 30, 60 second vignettes that in years to come would be something VERy special to look back on...
Oh my gosh...we could call it TRIBBETS!

Re: Ideas
Thu, December 9, 2004 - 11:16 PMI also know quite a few amateur-but-skilled social videographers around (ahem). There's lots of interesting & visually appealing art stuff that's pretty unique to the Bay area (like BM-based art events).
